Agate Harbor Cottage
Look at this aerial photo. This one of a kind property forms the entire western tip of Agate Point, a/k/a Middle Island Point, that point of land between two bays in the larger bay of Agate Harbor on the Keweenaw Peninsula. The simple 2-bedroom cedar cottage was built in the late 1930`s. To be here is to enjoy classic easy living in a world-class natural setting. The bay to the south offers safe harbor for mooring your sailboat or yacht. To the west, the sunset view is over Silver Island in the foreground and to the north, when the lake is rolling the waves crash into a reef and destruct in great whitecaps and explosions of spray. It is a powerful scene. By the cottage a monarch white pine holds an eagle nest where the great birds come and go.

Thistledowne at Seul Choix
Thistledowne was built to be a family home on Lake Michigan and a fabulous B&B. It was both. The prestigious Arrington's Bed & Breakfast Journal listed it as the "Seventh Most Elegant Inn in North America" in 2004, high honors indeed. Guest rooms and private quarters remain as beautiful as ever. It could again be one of the premier B&B's in the country OR it could be your fabulous private home or vacation home on a 660' wide, very private, Lake Michigan sand beach. Eagles nest in the pines on its 32 acres. Sandhill cranes walk the beach. We stayed there several times when it was an operating B&B and have never had a finer experience anywhere. Thistledowne at this price is an extraordinary value, however you use it. If you have plans and are looking in Michigan's U.P. you should see it. This might just fit!

Silver Lake & 350 Acres
Here it is: Your private 23-acre, half mile long, spring fed, clear water, wilderness lake near Marquette. Silver Lake has 22 acres of surface water and 11.5 foot depths. The parcel includes 350 acres, mostly maple uplands, with the lake at the center. Just south of the western end a fast flowing spring bubbles from the ground and feeds the lake and nearby from snowmelt to mid-summer there is a beautiful waterfall on a seasonal stream. Peter White, a founder of Marquette chose this lake for his personal camp. Waterfowl and sandhill cranes nest here, and I think loons do. Access is excellent with a county road, power and phone less than a mile away. The benefits include quiet seclusion on the edge of big timberland with services and supplies close by.

Glass Lake, in the Huron Mountains
Glass Lake is a whole, private Huron Mountain lake within a 360-acre ownership. This is the largest lake of its kind -- 45 aces of surface water, one owner, insured access, and a natural lake (no dam) remaining undivided outside the Huron Mountain Club in the Huron Mountains. By my count only three others even come close. It has excellent water quality and depth, islands, a shore with rock cliffs and monarch white pine, and unlike the others it is totally undeveloped. This is wolf and moose country on the edge of 1,000 square miles of wild land with mountainous terrain and it right here in the Midwest.

#41 Laughing Whitefish Point
This is a beautiful parcel with 250 feet of Lake Superior frontage and 10.19 acres of northern hardwoods forest just waiting for a fine home. The shoreline has dramatic sandstone "painted" sandstone beaches like those in nearby Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, with easy access to the lake. This home site is strategically situated between upscale city services in Marquette and spectacular wild lands around Munising, and that's as good as it gets. Neighbors have already built some of the best-designed vacation and retirement homes on Lake Superior. The entry road has been improved and offers perhaps the best year round access at Laughing Whitefish Point.

#113 Laughing Whitefish Point
The original developer of Laughing Whitefish Point had his favorites and this one was his -- he decided all things considered this was his best parcel and he made it large. It has the most Lake Superior frontage, 342 feet of it, and as much good land down near lake level, below the bluff, as any building parcel at Laughing Whitefish Point. That can be used many ways -- for additional storage buildings, tennis, or whatever you desire. It has a rock point, a paved access road, and great views up and down the shore. Mother Nature has even provided a particularly fine thimbleberry patch as a welcome. This large parcel is offered at an appealing price, and you should see it. It's a new listing and it's priced to sell.

#121 Laughing Whitefish Point
NEW PRICE. This parcel has always been a personal favorite at Laughing Whitefish Point. The brilliant red sandstone cove and formations, which contrast with white sandstone underwater, are as dramatic. Views to the east, west and north are very different from each other, and each is beautiful in its own way. The red sandstone ledge just below the water line causes spectacular wave effects and is perfect as a swimming or kayak-launching platform, and it is easily accessed from the shore.

VIEW LISTING & PICTURES »

#123 Laughing Whitefish Point
PRICED TO SELL, this extraordinary building site is is fairly priced at Laughing Whitefish Point, the most outstanding development on the south shore of Lake Superior. It's red sandstone shoreline and ledge for swimming or launching your kayak is as dramatic as it gets, which is to say, "Wow!" The parcel to the south, #121, is available too and is also significantly reduced in price. Combine these and you have a cost effective opportunity to own a building site with 500 feet on the water and 20 acres -- there is only one other opportunity like that at LWP. Fine homes have already been built on the parcels to either side. The road has been recently upgraded, the site improved, and you should see it!

Private Lake Near Marquette
Wow! I love this square mile. It has Huron Mountain topography at its best with high rock knobs in abundance, long views, an especially beautiful private lake and most of another. This square mile, 640 acres, is on the headwaters of the Little Garlic River. The timber on the north half has not been cut in at least 68 years: hard maple, red oak, hemlock, red and white pine. Some has never been cut as the virgin giant trees were protected by topography that made them inaccessible to loggers. It is beautiful, there's nothing like it, and it's very near Marquette!
